On this episode, we’re joined by Tremayne Smith, an alumnus of the Political Management program at GSPM and a season professional with a decade of experience working in the halls of Congress, with one of the world’s largest financial institutions — and even with a local high school in North Carolina. Tremayne started his career in DC working for Senator Kay Hagan, before eventually returning home to North Carolina to work as Director of Bands at Rocky Mount High School. He eventually returned to Washington and to the Hill, where he served as a Special Assistant to Congressman G.K. Butterfield and as Director of Scheduling to Congressman Connor Lamb. In 2019, Tremayne made the decision to leave Congress and join JPMorgan Chase, where he has spent time working with the JPMorgan Chase Institute and, most recently, in the company’s Global Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
